Our History and Direction

A brief history

Begining in 1856, our association formed to build fellowship and encourage cooperation between baptist churches in our region of Kentucky. Our association is named after Benjamin Lynn, one of the first pioneer pastors west of the Alleghany mountains. As he settled in this region, he first planted South Fork Baptist Church in 1782 and likely conducted the first baptisms in Kentuck as well. He then continued to plant many more churches. His example of courageous evangelism and discipleship inspire us even today!

Where we are today

Our association of churches continues to reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to disciple the saved with a faithful understanding of the Bible.
